Richelle K. Strode

Richelle K. Strode, 43, of Springfield, died at 10:12 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at St. John's Hospice. Richelle was born December 3, 1969 in Springfield, the daughter of Raymond L. and Judith K. Denton Swaggerty. She married C. Edward Strode on February 24, 1995 in Springfield. Richelle was a graduate of Lanphier High School and worked as an Office Assistant for the Illinois Department of Revenue. She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church. Richelle enjoyed boating, spending time with her family, and flower gardening. She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond L. Swaggerty. She is survived by her husband of 18 years, C. Edward Strode of Springfield; three children, Amanda N. Tucker, Tyler J. Strode, and Kyle C. Strode, all of Springfield; granddaughter, Kaylee Tucker of Springfield; mother, Judith Swaggerty of Springfield; siblings, Angela J. Swaggerty of Canton, IL, Lee (Terri) Swaggerty of Springfield, and Sheila R. (John) Strode of Girard; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5:00 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 3, 2013 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 2119 N. 20th St., Springfield with Rev. Clinton Honkomp O.P., celebrant. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Petersburg.
