Rita Morse, 62, of Springfield passed away at 2:35 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 2009 at St. John's Hospital. Rita was born February 6, 1947 in Springfield, the daughter of Richard J. and Bertha E. Loveless Smith. She married Winfield "Windy" Morse on June 8, 1974 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Springfield. He preceded her in death. Rita graduated from Pawnee High School and had been employed as a Nurse's Aide for 25 years. She was also a self-employed housekeeper. She enjoyed gardening and sewing. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She is also preceded in death by her parents; and four brothers, Albert, Herman, Paul and Robert. She is survived by two sons, Vincent Warren of Tuscon, AZ and Richard Warren of Springfield; nine grandchildren; one brother, Gary Smith of Springfield; and three sisters, Alberta Pape of Starke, FL, Martha Wagoner of Springfield and Sharon Scally of Chicago. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. Graveside ceremonies will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2009 at Camp Butler National Cemetery with Rev. Msgr. Thomas P. Holinga, V.F. officiant.
