He was born in Litchfield, IL, August 11, 1940 the son of Leland “Glenn” and Helen (Schubert) Isaacs. His parents and a brother-in-law John Sibons preceded him in death.
Robb was the owner and operator of Isaacs Refrigeration for many years, retiring in 1999 when his son Gary took over to continue the business. He served for many years, in many capacities with the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society and became President and CEO in 1999. He would continue there until a second retirement in 2006.
After his second retirement, he and his wife Carole fulfilled a “bucket list” trip as they traveled to Alaska with their RV where they spent three months. It was quite an adventure and one he talked about for many years to come. He had a passion for the Boy Scouts. He revived the Troop 302 in Pleasant Plains and continued to serve as Scout Master even after his son graduated. He was a member of the Left Handers Club (gun club), the Plumbers, Steamfitters and HVACR Local 137, and the YMCA where he was a member of the Aquatic Group. Robb was also a member of First United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Carole his son Gary (wife Sam) of Pleasant Plains, IL, his daughter Linda (husband Tim) Reiser of Springfield, 4 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, 4 step-children; Cindy Ferree of New Mexico, Jeanette (husband Tim) Horne of Texas, Dennis (wife Nina) Ferree and Denise Green both of Springfield. He has 15 step-grandchildren and several step-great grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters, Patricia Sibons of Orlando, FL and Nancy (husband Edward) Petersen of Fairfield, IA. He has several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Cremation Rites will be accorded by the Bisch Crematory, Springfield. A private family graveside service will be held at Old Salem Cemetery with Rev. Nicole Cox officiating. Family and Friends are invited to a Celebration of Life with light refreshments from 4-7 pm Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at the Knights of Columbus 2200 Meadowbrook Rd. Springfield, IL 62711.
