Robert "Bob" Emerson Clark

Robert Emerson “Bob” Clark, 89, of Springfield, formerly of Houston, TX, died at 5:40 p.m. on Monday, August 15, 2005 at Sangamon Care Center. Bob was born on June 11, 1916 in Kenmore, NY, the son of Joel and Grace Butler Clark. He married Jane Keith in 1941; she preceded him in death in 1982. He then married Frances Lester in 1984. He received a degree in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering from Penn State University. He was employed by Shell Oil Company in exploration and production. A gentle, loving and intelligent man, Bob was very proud of his family and confident of his career. He was a member of Braeburn Country Club in Houston, TX. He was preceded in death by one sister. He is survived by his wife: Frances Clark of Springfield; two daughters: Barbara (husband, Jim) Tudas of Columbus, OH, Susan (husband, Woody) Norwood of New Orleans, LA; one son: John (wife, Marjory Alexander) Clark of Houston, TX; one step-daughter: Joan (husband; Ron) Kanoski of Springfield; one step-son: David Lester of Centennial, CO; four grandchildren; five step grandchildren; and one great grandson. The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2005 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2005 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home with Dr. Lonnie Lee officiating. Cremation accorded by Cremation Tribute Center, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield following the funeral service.
