

He was born on August 14, 1927, in Columbus, OH, the son of Raymond F. and Helen B. (Dietlin) Immel. Bob married Marty Hilgert on June 10, 1950, at St. Mary’s Church in Columbus, OH.
Bob graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Columbus, OH in 1945. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He studied photography in Dallas, TX. Bob went on to become a manufacture representative in the Home Furnishings industry. He was a member of Springfield’s Christ the King Catholic Parish, Iles’ Knights of Columbus, the Sertoma Club, and the International Home Furnishing Representatives Association. Bob enjoyed photography and loved spending time with his family, particularly his grandchildren and grand dogs. He was known to always have a cleaver comment.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, William Immel; sister Mary Lou (Bob) Wollenberg, and grandson, Brian Michael Immel.
Bob is survived by his wife, Marty Immel of Springfield; children, Steve (Pam) Immel of Carmel, IN, Janet Immel Daniels of Crystal Lake, IL, and Bob Immel of Springfield; grandchildren, Megan Daniels, Laura (Adam) Gadberry and Mackenzie Daniels; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 2022, at Butler Funeral Home – Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. A prayer service will begin the visitation at 4:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass: 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Christ the King Catholic Parish, 1930 Barberry Dr., Springfield with Rev. Clinton Honkomp, OP, celebrant.
Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
Private Interment will take place at Camp Butler National Cemetery at a later date.
