Robert K. "Bob" Carter

Robert K. "Bob" Carter, 77, of Springfield, passed away at 7:51 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 in Springfield. Bob was born August 28, 1936 in Leitchfield, KY, the son of Claude G. and Oma Hodges Carter. He married Joan Sanner on September 28, 2006. Bob proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was a member of Calvary Temple Christian Center since 1982. He had owned and operated Carter's Restaurant Repair since 1970. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Claudia Morales. He is survived by his wife, Joan M. Carter of Springfield; his son, James Robert Carter of Springfield; two daughters, Kelly Jean Carter and Stephanie Vass, both of Springfield; two step-daughters, Michelle Loseman of Missouri and Lisa (husband, Kevin) Graham of Springfield; five grandchildren, Noah Carter Crenshaw, Elise Vass, Keim Carter, and Matthew and Nathan Graham; one brother, Clarence (wife, Mary) Carter of CA; two sisters, Helen (husband, Ernest) Downey of Jacksonville and Clydia Frances Carter of Springfield; one great-grandchild, Carter Vass, and one great-grandson on the way; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:30 until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 14, 2014 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Rose officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery with military honors.
