

Robert A. "Bob" Hogan, 87, of New Berlin passed away at 1:25 p.m. on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, WI. Bob was born February 8, 1923 in Alta, IL, the son of Robert A. and Susan Bruce Hogan, Sr. He married Bernice Prim on December 6, 1947 in Peoria. Bob graduated from Spaulding Institute and Brown's Business College in Peoria. He proudly served on the USS Sheridan APA 51 during World War II in the South Pacific. He retired from INA/Cigna Insurance Co. after 23 years of service. After retirement, he worked for Michel & Cully Claims Service and owned R.A. Hogan adjusting. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He was president of Monroe School District #70 in Peoria, 1st president of the Peoria Obedience Training Club in Peoria and served on the Board of Directors for the Bartonville Little League in Peoria County. He was also a founding member of Long Lake Farms Inc. in Browning, IL, a member of the K of C in New Berlin, American Legion Post 32 in Springfield, Slip and Skid Flying Club, and Adjusters Assoc. of Central IL. Bob was a family man who always put his family first. He also enjoyed duck hunting, loved the outdoors and horses, was a private pilot, a beekeeper and loved to cook. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Eileen Connery. He is survived by his wife, Bea of New Berlin; his son, Bruce (wife, Dyanne) Hogan of Springfield; his daughter, Barbara (husband, Gary) Proctor of Crocker, MO and four grandchildren, Nicholas and Ashton Hogan and Krista and Chad Proctor. The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 29, 2010 at McCullough-Delaney & Butler Funeral Home, 714 E. Gibson St., New Berlin. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 30, 2010 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 404 E. Birch St., New Berlin with Rev. Angel Sierra, celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in New Berlin. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 404 E. Birch St., New Berlin, IL 62670, Aspirus Health Foundation Volunteers, 425 Pine Ridge Blvd, Wausau, WI 54401 or the charity of the donor's choice.
