Robert Lee Lubin, 91, of Palm Springs, CA, formerly of Springfield, IL and Las Vegas, NV, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 6, 2024 in Palm Springs, CA, where he lived for the last seven years.
He was born on February 17, 1933 in Evanston, IL, the son of the late Adolph and Rose (Burstein) Lubin. He married Haya Gil on September 24, 1994 in Las Vegas, NV.
Bob served in the U.S. Army in Korea from 1954 to 1956. He was co-owner of Barker Lubin’s Lumber City in Springfield, IL and partial owner of Strike’n Spare East and West where he was an avid bowler. He lived in Las Vegas, NV for many years where he loved to play golf every day. He was a former member of Temple B’rith Sholom.
He is survived by his wife Haya Gil-Lubin; his four children, Amy Liles of Las Vegas, NV, Janet “Gigi” Lubin of Chicago, IL, Edmond “Ed” Lubin of Chicago, IL, and Anna Lake of Springfield, IL., three grandchildren, Emily (husband Erik) Halverson of Las Vegas, NV, Nicholas (wife Lauren) Lake of Springfield, IL, Nathan Levin of Chicago, IL, a great-grandson David Halverson; and a sister Helen Bridges of Oneonta, NY.; and six nieces.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Joseph Lubin and a sister Carol Bender.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home, Springfield., IL. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, July, 14, 2024 at 3:00 pm at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Springfield, IL, with Rabbi Michael Datz officiating.
