(Professional Curmudgeon, Public Radio Personality, Film Nerd)
Robert Braun Meyer III, known to friends, coworkers, and unsuspecting radio listeners as “Bob,”58 of Springfield, exited the mortal plane after a lifelong commitment to facts, films, and fantasy worlds—none of which prepared him for this paragraph.
Born to Robert B. Meyer II and Karen Allison in Indianapolis, IN, Bob inherited his father’s name and radio voice and his mother’s interest in research. Bob’s passions were music, obscure horror films, film history and RPG and strategy games.
Bob graduated from Springfield High School, class of 1985 and Eastern Illinois University class of 1991.
Bob spent 21 years (2000–2021) at WUIS Public Radio 91.9 FM at the University of Illinois Springfield, where his voice quietly helped shape the airwaves. He later joined the Illinois Department of Public Health, where he continued his public service by ensuring accuracy and order.
Bob will be remembered for his dry wit, precise opinions, and quiet generosity toward those who earned it. He was deeply loyal, fiercely intelligent, and never once apologized for liking what he liked.
Bob was also writing a book that is uploaded on Tapatalk (Classic Horror Film Board) https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/monsterkidclassichorrorforum/
