Robert J. Noe

Robert J. Noe, 81, of Springfield, died at 7:35 a.m., Thursday, July 29, 2004 at Memorial Medical Center. Robert was born September 20, 1922 in Freeport, IL the son of Edward Anthony and Louise Sauer Noe. He married Marilyn Kopf, June 1, 1946 in Rockford. Mr. Noe was employed as a radio announcer for WTAX. He was also employed by the Chicago Daily News and Sun Times. He retired from the State of Illinois Department of Revenue in 1987. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during WWII. He was a lifelong member of the Moose Lodge and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn of Springfield, one son: Ralph (wife, Juanita) Noe of Springfield, three daughters: Melody Noe of Springfield, Maureen (husband, Jack) Kornfeld of Springfield, Lynette (husband, Dan) Thompson of Rochester, four grandchildren: Cristina Noe of Pana, Paul Noe of Rochester, Haley and Blake Thompson of Rochester; two sisters: Marjorie (husband, Bob) Huisinga and Dorothy Roddewig both of Freeport, IL and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Family will receive friends from 5-8:00 p.m. Sunday, August 1, 2004 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 2, 2004 at Church of the Little Flower, 800 Adlai Stevenson Dr., Springfield with Fr. Chuck Edwards celebrant. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where the Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County will conduct military honors.
