Robert Alan Ross

Robert “Bob” Alan Ross, 41 of Petersburg lost his battle to cancer after a tough, but short fight. He passed away July 14, 2025 at 4:58 p.m. in Memorial Hospital in Springfield, surrounded by his family. Bob was born on June 6, 1984 to Alan Lee & Stacey Kay Ross.

He is survived by his mother Stacey and step-father, Kent Lemme and brothers, Troy and Rich, sisters, Chris & Diana, favorite nephew Alan, several aunts, uncles, and cousins, and honorary brother Eric “Frog” Lowery. Also, his step-family, Quintin, Mallary, Clayton & Cameron.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alan Ross, cousin Shane Johnson and his grandparents.

Bob will always be remembered with his infectious smile, quick witted one liners and just an all- around loving, caring, happy person. He was so very kind, sweet and never met a stranger. Bob would do whatever he could for anyone, anytime.

Bob graduated from PORTA High School in Petersburg in 2003. Bob was employed by the Illinois Secretary of State, Driver Services since 2007 and was determined to make it to his 20 years. He loved his job and coworkers and looked forward to going to work daily. He will be missed by all. Heaven truly gained an angel.

There will be a Memorial Service for Bob on Saturday, July 19th from 9:00 – 11:00 am, Bisch & Son Funeral Home, 505 E. Allen St., Springfield.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 26 from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Benefit that was already planned for him at the Coyote Den, Salisbury, IL.
