Bobby was born on May 22, 1967 in Springfield, the son of Robert A. and Vernice Ann (Tomlin) Warner. He married his childhood sweetheart, Sandra M. Riley, on August 27, 1993 in Springfield.
Bobby was an amazing cook. He was known for holding colossal cook outs, which featured a variety of dishes. Meatloaf, Swiss steak, and chili were among some of his most popular menu items. However, his grandchildren's favorite was homemade BBQ sauce, which could be served with many of his plates. The 4th of July was his holiday. People recognized him as the firework guy. He often had the biggest home display of fireworks in his community. To provide for his family, Bobby was a truck driver for 20+ years. His grandchildren were always excited for him to bring home his semi-trailer for them to view. It has been mentioned before, but his life was spending time with all of his grandchildren. He was known as a teddy bear to them, someone who spoiled them constantly, and kept their spirits high.
He was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Warner of Springfield; two sons, Robert A. Warner of Springfield and Bobby Piel of FL; one daughter, Marisha (husband, David) Leach of Riverton; mother, Vernice Ann Warner of Springfield; five grandchildren, David Medill, Tyler James, and Dean Michael Leach, Ryker Allen Warner, and Mercedes Marie Leach; sister-in-law, Cynthia (husband, William) Luster of Edinburg; niece, Kimberly White and family; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
The family is being served by Boardman-Smith Funeral Home, 800 S. Grand Ave. West, Springfield.
