

Roberta “Bobbie” Ann Moon, 77, of Springfield, died at 4:50 p.m. Sunday, August 17, 2003 at her home. Bobbie was born March 4, 1926 in Springfield, the daughter of John and Jennie (Gilbert) Shinnick. She married George Moon August 21, 1950; he preceded her in death in 1963. Mrs. Moon, a graduate of St. Joseph School and attended Lanphier High School, was employed for 24 years as Maintenance Supervisor for Franklin Life retiring in 1989. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two sisters: Lucille “Kelly” Kerske and Agnes Rogers. She is survived by three sons: George David (wife, Kathy) Moon of Loami, Edward J. (wife, Arletta) Moon of Quincy and Ronald (wife, Lori) Moon of Virginia, IL, three daughters: Janice Moon, Mary (husband, Larry) Pemberton and Michelle (husband, Pete) Maher all of Springfield, nine grandchildren, one great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home from 5 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 20, 2003. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 21, 2003 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Msgr. John R. Ossola officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
