Roscoe Arthur "Art" Anderson

Roscoe Arthur "Art" Anderson of Oakford passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at Sunny Acres. Art was born May 24, 1930 on a farm just west of Oakford in Cass County, the son of Roscoe Phineas "Jack" Anderson and Virgie Lean McHenry Anderson. He married Mildred "Jackie" McCario Sears of Kilbourne on May 19, 1956. They were married 54 years. Art worked as a truck driver and for the Porta Community School District before managing Stroh-Anderson Redi-Mix in Petersburg for 5 years. Art owned and operated Art Anderson Fertilizer & Trucking Company in Oakford from 1966 to 1990. After retiring, Art worked for the Springfield Tractor and Trailer Company. Art was a member of the Clinton Masonic Lodge No. 19 for 32 years and a member of the Oakford United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his brother Randall Anderson and sister Phyllis (John) Leinberger; his wife, Jackie Anderson April 11, 2011 and daughter Linda Anderson Horn, December 18, 2010. He is survived by Jackie's daughter, Patricia Hill of Austin, TX; his son, Tracy (Judy) Anderson of Oakford; three grandchildren, Ross (Jenifer) Horn of Minneapolis, MN, Ray (Alison) Horn of St. Louis, MO, and Wendy Hill (Russell) Webb of Driftwood, TX; and two great-grandchildren, Maxwell Perry and Parker Webb of Driftwood, TX. Brothers and sisters; Lucille Lutes (Paul, deceased), Roberta Stroh (Donald, deceased), Gerald "Andy" Anderson (Josephine, deceased), Virginia (Otto) Winkelmann (Otto, deceased), Esther Fricke (Gilbert, deceased), Robert Anderson (Wanda), and Gene Anderson (Glenda). Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. Private family ceremonies will be held at a later date.
