

Rose was born January 3, 1950, in Springfield, the daughter of John Edward and Rose Margaret (Hobson) Von De Bur.
She was a graduate of Ursuline Academy in Springfield. Rose earned an Associate of Science from Lincoln Land Community College in both biology and nursing. She completed her Bachelor of Science at the College of Saint Francis in Joliet.
Rose worked for more than thirty years at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, starting as an Operating Room Technician in 1971. She moved on to hold positions including Surgical Staff Nurse and Nursing Supervisor of Major Surgery. Rose’s love of travel led her to finish her career as a traveling nurse working at other regional hospitals.
She was an avid reader her whole life and always loved to find adventure where she could. From travel, to work, to welcoming friends into her home, Rose was always ready with a smile and a helping hand.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Rose is survived by her son, James “Bart” (Navonna) Morrison of Springfield; grandchildren, Seamus and Scarlett Morrison; and brothers, Phillip and Edward Von De Bur, both of Springfield.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 3:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 19, 2022, at Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, IL. Visitation will begin with a prayer service.
Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 20, 2022, at Blessed Sacrament Parish, 1725 S. Walnut St., Springfield with Reverend Jeff Grant, celebrant.
Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center following Mass.
A private family burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
