Royna Kristine Wilkins

Royna Kristeen "Kris" Wilkins, 58, of Springfield passed away Tuesday August 24, 2010 at St. John's Hospital.

She was born May 28, 1952 in San Diego, CA the daughter of James Roy and Emma Jean Dunn Johnson. Her parents preceded her in death. She married Charles E. "Chuck" Wilkins in Springfield May 28, 1976 and he survives.

She is also survived by her daughter; Miranda Wilkins of Springfield, a sister; Melissa Johnson of Murphysboro, TN., two brothers; James Neil (wife Sandy) Johnson and Mark Allen (wife Judy) Johnson both of Nashville, TN., two nephews, two nieces, a great niece, a great nephew, two sister-in-laws; Dianne E. (husband Mark) DeGroot of Springfield and Dawn E. Wilkins of Oxford, MS.

Mrs. Wilkins retired from the Illinois State Board of Education in 2008 where she worked in various positions the last being in accounting and inventory of text books and materials.

She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and was an avid bowler. She was a great cook.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home 505 E. Allen, where visitation will be on Thursday August 26, 2010 from 4-7 pm and where funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Friday August 27, 2010 with Rev. Vaughn Beeman officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
