

She was raised in St. Louis where she worked with her father, a noted dress designer and professor at Washington University School of Costume Design. Upon marrying her beloved husband, Floyd, who predeceased her in 1998, they moved to Springfield where they owned and operated Floyd’s Store for Women downtown for 27 years. She was a lecturer and area coordinator for Weight Watchers for Illinois and Iowa for 13 years. She then owned and operated Personalized Tours for historic Lincoln sites in Springfied and the surrounding areas for 15 years until she retired.
She was a member of Temple B’rith Sholom, where she was past president of the Sisterhood, and volunteered for the Lincoln’s Visitor Center, Memorial Hospital Festival of Trees, and the Abraham Lincoln Museum until the time of her death.
She is survived by 3 sons: Stephen (wife Libby) Rambach of Springfield, Ronald Rambach of California, Ross Rambach of Ashland, Oregon, and a daughter Rosalind (husband Harry) Borders of West Palm Beach, Florida and 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren and a devoted brother Paul (wife Deane) Shatz of Washington, D.C.
Services are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 E. Allen, Springfield, where visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 from 4 to 7 pm. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at 1 pm at the funeral home, with Rabbi Michael Datz officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Springfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ruth Rambach Scholarship Fund at Lanphier High School, 1300 N. 11th St., Springfield, IL 62702.
