Sally Ann Glisson

Sally Ann Glisson, 42, of Springfield, died at 3:35 p.m. Tuesday October 23rd, 2001 at her residence. She was born October 24th, 1958 in Springfield, the daughter of Charles Edward ''Cap'' & Mary Jean Kelty Glisson Sr. Sally was a graduate of Little Flower Grade School and Sacred Heart Academy. She had worked as a Security Guard for the State of Illinois at the old Revenue building at 9th & South Grand Avenue. She later served various restaurant establishments as a waitress, including most recently at the Cracker Barrell in Springfield. She was a very skilled waitress. She also was self employed as a Nail Technician, where she assisted clients in her home. She had a love of life and a very strong faith, and was very brave in facing her illness. She loved reading, and was a very independent person. But most of all, she loved her family and being an aunt, and her nieces and nephews were a big part of her life. Sally was preceded in death by her father- Charles E. ''Cap'' Glisson Sr.- October 7th, 1999. Surviving are her mother- Mary Jean Glisson of Springfield; sisters- Lynda (husband-Dave) Beck of Dayton, OH, Patti (husband-Trace) Manning of Springfield, and Debbie (husband-Jim) Rushing of Springfield; brothers-Charles (wife-Martha Ann) Glisson Jr of St. Charles, MO and Michael (wife-Kimberly) Glisson of Alton; 13 nieces and nephews, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday October 26th, 2001 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 South 6th Street in Springfield. There will be a prayer service at 5:30 p.m. Concelebrated Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday October 27th, 2001 at Church of the Little Flower, the Rev. John Ossola principal celebrant.
