

Sharon K. Richardson, 58, of Springfield, passed away at 5:55 p.m. on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center after a short, yet courageous battle with stomach cancer. Sharon was born July 18, 1956 in Springfield, the daughter of James E. Britz, Sr. and Nellie L. "Betsy" Hinds Britz. She married Craig D. Richardson on April 15, 1977 in Springfield. Sharon was a 1975 graduate of Lanphier High School. She was a member of Eastview Baptist Church and was employed by Memorial Medical Center for 39 years, most recently as a Medical Records Coder. Sharon was known for her kind, down-to-earth and charitable personality, who had a talent for crafts and a love for reading and listening to music. She loved her family especially her granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother Terry Wessing and his wife Beverly. She is survived by her husband, Craig D. Richardson of Springfield; her son, Craig D. (wife, Ashley) Richardson Jr. of Rochester; two grandchildren, Hailey Burris and Lilly Richardson; five siblings, James (wife, Connie) Britz, Jr. of Dawson, Gary (wife, Julie) Britz of Riverton, Rosemary Snow of GA, Peggy Brown of Springfield, and Gladys (husband, Kenneth) Kutzora of Springfield; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; one dog, Maggie; and two granddogs, Nova & Lucy. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Pastor Bennie Fisher officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
