Shelby Jean Watters

Shelby Watters, 82, of Taylorville, IL., formerly of Eldorado, IL., went to be with the Lord on April 25, 2026 at 4:05am at Taylorville Care Center. She was born on December 7th, 1943 to the parents of Hubert and Pauline Tarlton.

She spent most of her adult life as a homemaker caring for her four children. She did, however, work outside the home part time taking care of the elderly and cleaning houses.

She is survived by her children Terry Watters of Alton, IL, Tina Varland(James) of Johnson City, IL, Teresa Millburg(William) of Taylorville, IL., and a daughter in law Laura Tuttle of Warrenton, Mo. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Michael Caldwell, Michele Turtle, April Watters(Josh), Melanie Pyle, Amanda Watters(Kyle) and William Millburg Jr(Alexis) a brother Steven Tarlton(Liz) and a sister-in-law Susan Tarlton as well as several great grandchildren nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son Tony Watters, a brother Stanley Tarlton and a long time boyfriend Bob Spivey.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday April 30, 2026 at Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 East Allen Street in Springfield, IL., officiated by Chad Foster. A burial will take place at Colbert cemetery in Equality IL., at a later date.
