

Steve was born on January 8, 1959, in Chatsworth, CA, the son of Leslie Delbert and Bethyl Jean Donovan Bozarth. He married Lori Brest on September 2, 2011, at the Sangamon County Courthouse.
Steve graduated from New Berlin High School in 1976 and attended truck driving school. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1977 to 1988. Steve was employed as a truck driver for most of his life, but also worked as a phlebotomist for St. John’s Hospital and as a clerk at Road Ranger. He was an EMS volunteer and vice president of the Eagles Club from 1996 to 1998. Steve enjoyed hunting with a shotgun and bow, fishing, camping, and was an avid race car fan especially Brandon Sheppard and Dale Earnhardt. Above all else he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, John Lewis; first wife, Carla Bozarth; sister, Brenda Appelt; beloved dog, Porky.
He is survived by his wife, Lori Bozarth of Berlin; son, LeRoy Bozarth of Springfield; daughters, Jami (husband, James) Bozarth-Randol of Seymour and Cynthia (husband, Christopher O’Neill) Bozarth of Riverton; grandchildren, Paige Randol, Nikota Randol, Shea Wesley Randol, Angelica Bozarth, Tristan Bozarth, and one on the way, Elizabeth Jean O’Neill; siblings, Roger Bozarth of Palm Springs, CA, Ron (wife, Terry) Appelt of Auburn, Bill (wife, Nancy) Lewis of Decatur; and Debby Schmulbach of Williamsville; uncle, Irvin Donovan of Palm Springs, CA; and his beloved dog, Chubby.
Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies.
Ceremonies will be held at a later date with burial at Camp Butler National Cemetery with military honors.
