

Steve Wagner, 52, of Springfield, died at 5:58 p.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at St. John's Hospital. Steve was born May 9, 1958 in Springfield, the son of David Sr. and Nancy Buckley Wagner. Steve was a graduate of Pleasant Plains High School. He proudly served our country in the Navy and was formerly employed by two family businesses, HM Buckley & Sons and Smart Choice Properties. He enjoyed singing karaoke at the American Legion Post 809 and was known for his great sense of humor. Steve also enjoyed writing poems and watching John Wayne and Clint Eastwood movies. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harry and Ileus Buckley and Walter and Selma Wagner. He is survived by his parents, Dave and Nancy Wagner of Springfield; three brothers, Dave (wife, Diane) Wagner, Jr. and Rob (wife, Karen) Wagner, both of Springfield and Jeff (wife, Jennifer) Wagner of Austin, TX; many aunts and uncles; one niece, Emery Wagner; three nephews, Blake, Tyler and Ethan Wagner; and many cousins. Family will receive friends from 10:00-11:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 18, 2010 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. A funeral ceremony will follow at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
