
T. Paul Marrin Sr., 89, of Springfield, passed away at 4:40 a.m., Monday, July 2, 2001 at St. John's Hospital. Paul was born December 21, 1911 the son of John Allison and Mary T. Dressendorfer Marrin in Springfield. He Married Mary D. Merrick August 19, 1939 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. She preceded him in death February 1989. Mr. Marrin served on Sangamon County Board, district 28 from 1978-1988. He was a Democratic Precinct Committeeman from 1966-1990. He retired in 1978 after 30 years of working for the State of Illinois, prior to his retirement he worked as a custodian for the State Armory. He was appointed Secretary for the Springfield Mass Transit District September 1993. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary D. Marrin, five brothers and seven sisters. He is survived by eight children: Pam (husband, Garry) Williamson of Hillsboro, Thomas Paul Marrin Jr. of Phoenix, AZ, Kathleen ''Kay'' Marrin of Chicago, Dennis (wife, Madonna) Marrin of Springfield, James A. Marrin of Boston, MA, Martha Marrin of Springfield, Joseph A. (wife, Judy) Marrin of Springfield, Sheila (husband, David) Ryan of Springfield; one sister: Grace Schoff of Kincaid; eleven grandchildren; two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home from 4-8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 5, 2001 with a wake service at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m, Friday, July 6, 2001 with Reverend Thomas Von Behren celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Land of Lincoln – Goodwill Industry 800 N. 10th St., Springfield, IL 62702.
