
Ted B. Williams, 59, of Sherman, died at 11:21 p.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center. Ted was born August 2, 1955 in Springfield, the son of Robert I. and Ollie E. Weedman Williams, Jr. He married Mary Peet on June 22, 2000 in Sevierville, TN. Ted proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was the owner of OldTyme Tobacco Co. Ted was known for being quick-witted and was an extremely talented handy man, always willing to help others. He enjoyed fishing and family get-togethers. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Richard Williams. He is survived by his wife, Mary "Ginger" Peet-Williams of Sherman; one step-son, Bill Peet, Jr. of Arizona; one step-daughter, Teena (husband, Jim) Landholt of Springfield; three step-grandchildren, Kenny, Josh, and Zachary; three brothers, Roger Williams of Port Byron, Robert I. (wife, Diane) Williams, III, and John Henry Williams, both of Springfield; an aunt, an uncle, and several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many special friends. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. The family will be hosting an interment at Camp Butler National Cemetery on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. Military honors will be provided by the Department of Defense. Memorial contributions may be made to the family or to a charity of the donor's choice.
