Terrence Patrick McCarthy

Terrence "Terry" Patrick McCarthy, 52, of Springfield, died at 3:35 a.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center. Terry was born July 26, 1959 in Springfield, the son of Jerome and JoAnne Beatty McCarthy. Terry earned a Certificate in Electronics from I.T.T. Technical Institute in Indianapolis, IN, an Associates Degree in Computer Science from Robert Morris College and his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Management from U of ISpringfield. He worked in computer and electronic diagnostic repair throughout the years and specialized in TV and computer systems. He enjoyed swimming, playing pool and darts. He is preceded in death by his parents and niece, Sunny Lynn Russell. He is survived by his son, Chris P. (fiance, Lisa Rinnus) of Scottsdale, AZ; siblings, Jo Russell of Clearwater, FL, Jerome "Tom" (wife, Caren) McCarthy of Sonoma, CA, and Cathy (husband, Roy) Elmore of Dawson, IL; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Grant officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
