
Theodore S. “Ted” Cherry, 67, of Springfield, died at 9:55 a.m. on Saturday Jan. 1, 2005 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. Ted was born November 20, 1937 in Springfield, the son of Wesley and Victoria Urbas Cherry. He married Carolyn J. Whalen Sept 1, 1960 in Springfield. Ted was preceded in death by his parents. He worked for the Kynize Paint Company for 27 years; he then worked for IDS Warehouse, and for Boss Manufacturing as a shipping clerk retiring in 2002. He served in the Army National Guard for eight years with Company A 2nd Medical Tanks Battalion 106 Armor of Springfield, Illinois. He is survived by his wife: Carolyn J. Cherry of Springfield; three brothers: Wesley S. (wife, Betty) Cherry, Louis Cherry both of Springfield and Stuart (wife, Barbara) Cherry of Janesville, WI; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and Ms. Kitty and Blue. Cremation will be accorded by the Cremation Tribute Center. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, Jan 8, 2005, at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield, with Scott Brindley officiating.
