Thomas Edward Golden, Sr

Thomas E. Golden, Sr., 66, of Springfield, died at 8:06 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 2003, at his residence. He was born August 18, 1936 in Harrisburg, IL, the son of Virgil Golden and Frances Pavelonis Golden. He married Ilene Collins on August 28, 1958 in Ridgeway, IL. Mr. Golden was employed as a pressman at the State Journal-Register, retiring in 1998 after 40 years of service. He was a member of St. Agnes Parish, Knights of Columbus Council 364, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed golf, gardening, woodworking and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife: Ilene of Springfield; two daughters: Lori L. (husband, Dave) Robinson of Springfield and Alynda M. Crossin of Athens; two sons: Thomas E. Jr. (wife, Vicky) and Gregory J., both of Springfield; one brother: Stephen D. (wife, Carole), of Minnesota; five grandchildren, one step grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home from 5-8:00 p.m. Monday, July 21, 2003. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2003 at St. Agnes Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr Patrick J. Wright celebrant. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care of Illinois, 720 North Bond Street, Springfield, IL 62702-9914. The family of Thomas E.
