

Tom was born on December 13, 1949, the son of Brig. Gen. Ret. Harold F. Pacha and Marian A. (Leahy) Pacha. He married Karen Black on February 14, 2010, in Sanibel Island, FL.
Tom attended Little Flower Catholic School and graduated from Griffin High School in 1967. He also attended Lincoln Land Community College. Tom proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was then employed as the first hire by the Federal Government (Lincoln’s Home) in maintenance, doing heating and air conditioning work for the National Park Service, retiring after 35 years. Tom was a member of the Knight of Columbus #4179. He enjoyed spending his time golfing and riding his motorcycle.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Mary Jo, Virginia, Daniel, and Jim Pacha.
He is survived by his wife, Karen of Springfield, IL; son, Michael Pacha of Urbandale, Iowa; granddaughter, Rachel (Pakko) Pacheco of Hampshire, IL; great-grandchildren, Rose, Mya, and Ava Pacheco; sister, Marina Pacha Powell of Springfield, IL; and mother-in-law, Marilyn Black of Decatur, IL.
Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
Memorial Gathering and Ceremony: Family will receive guests from 9:30 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, 900 S. Sixth Street Springfield. A Memorial Ceremony will follow at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Amy Ziettlow, officiating.
