

Tom was born September 14, 1942 in St. Louis, MO, the son of Dr. Emmet and Mary Maxon Pearson. Growing up in Springfield, IL along the shores of Lake Springfield, Tom fostered a love of the great outdoors and boating. He was a graduate of Hazel Dell Elementary School, Cranbrook Academy, Tulane University, and John Marshall Law School, where he earned his Juris Doctorate.
Professionally, Tom served as the General Counsel for the Village of Illiopolis for over 20 years and retired December 31, 2009 from Kenney and Pearson, Attorneys at Law. His fondness of fine food and wine also served him well as Vice Charge des Bouteilliers of the Chaine des Rotisseurs. He was a member of The Central Illinois Studebaker Club, Sanibel/Captiva Power Squadron, Sanibel Fishing Club and Island Bay Yacht Club. Tom enjoyed cooking and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packers fan. An animal lover and true outdoorsman who loved gardening and hunting, Tom will be remembered fondly as a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin and dear friend to many.
Tom married Anna Nemesh on May 2, 2008 in Chicago. He is survived by his wife, Anna Pearson of Springfield; two daughters, Kathryn L. (husband, Justin) Range of Edwardsville and Jill M. Pearson (partner, Summer Dewdney, M.D.) of Chicago; three step-children, Tamara Leone, BSN, Stephen Unverzagt, DC and Katelyn Williams; grandchildren, Mia, August, Olivia and Samuel; seven step-grandchildren; siblings, Edwin (wife, Katherine) Pearson of Acton, MA, Mary (husband, Harold) Perkins of Springfield, and Ann (husband, Ronald) Tucker of Springfield; numerous nieces and nephews, and two cousins.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 11, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, IL.
Funeral Ceremony: A funeral service will be Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Fraase Farm, 782 S. Farmingdale Rd., New Berlin, with Rev. Martin Woulfe officiating. Burial will follow at Farmington Cemetery.
