

Thomas W. Sutton, 74, of Illiopolis, passed away at 2:17 P.m. on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Memorial Hospice at Heritage Health. Tom was born on July 15, 1944 in Rochelle, IL, the son of Alton C. and Viola E. Howard Sutton. He married Mary J. Hooley on November 30, 1968 at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Rochelle, IL. Tom was a graduate of Rochelle Township High School and was to attend Ohio State University when he was drafted into the United States Army. Tom was employed for over 30 years as a Supervisor with Borden Chemical. He enjoyed hunting, dancing, and traveling. Tom had a special love for Ireland and Hawaii. He was a member of the American Legion Post #508, Ducks Unlimited, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, and White Tails Unlimited. Tom was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Jaclee Forster. He is survived by his wife, Mary J. Sutton of Illiopolis; one son, Tim Sutton of Springfield; one brother, Charles H. (wife, Carole) Sutton of Chana, IL; his Bischon, Lilli; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. A Celebration of Life and private family interment at Camp Butler National Cemetery will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
