Trudy L. Ayappa

Trudy L. Ayappa, 61, of Sherman, passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2015, at Memorial Medical Center. She was born on March 15, 1954 to Robert and Mary Gumm Grant. She married Paul Ayappa on February 14, 1987 in Springfield and he survives.

Trudy is also survived by her children: Katra (husband Karl) Knoernschild of Oswego, Zach Ayappa of Springfield, and Katie Ayappa of Sherman, two grandchildren: Kyle Robert and Ian Johann Knoernschild, one brother Joe (Catra) Grant, two sisters: Bobbi (Robert) Beggs and Shelly (Shahrom) Jahanshir and her mother Mary Grant all of Springfield, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Robert Grant, grandson Konner Knoernschild, sister Gayla Meneghetti and brother Kevin Grant.

Trudy was the co-pastor of Faith Outreach in Sherman with her husband, and she was a talented musician and artist. She was a devoted Christian, wife, and mother who loved singing praise and worship songs. She loved people and had the gift to always make them laugh. Trudy had the ability to make a difference in people’s lives by instilling hope and faith in every situation. Most of all she loved God and her family and she will be greatly missed.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Calvary Temple Christian Center, 1730 West Jefferson and burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 5-7:00 p.m. Friday at Calvary Temple. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Outreach Christian Center.
