Verna M. Clement

She was born June 3, 1942, the daughter of Frederick R. and Wilma R. (Brown) Roberts Sr. Her parents, a son, Norman Leaderbrand, a brother, Ken Roberts, and two sisters-in-law, Mary Roberts and Norma Roberts preceded her in death.

Verna was a graduate of Lanphier High School. She worked for the State of Illinois Department of Revenue where she was a data processing specialist. She retired from there in 2002.

Verna was a faithful member of Elm Street Christian Church and attended Bible class there as well.

She married Larry A. Clement, in Riverton, IL November 24, 1979, and he survives. She is also survived by her two daughters; Jody (fiancé Ron Trader) Womack and Gerri (husband Scott) Williams, both of Chatham, IL, her son, Matt (wife Mindy) Pettus of Springfield, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins, her two brothers; Fred (wife Mary) Roberts Jr. of Chatham, IL and Carl Roberts of Tennessee.

Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Elm Street Christian Church 3020 E. Elm St. Springfield, IL 62702 beginning at 9:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 10:30 am. Pastor Mike King will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.
