

She was born April 12, 1916 in Cape Girardeau, MO. the daughter of Edward V. and Anna Ethel Crump Beeve. She married John Seahorn Hudson Mar. 31, 1941 and he preceded her in death Feb. 12, 2003. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Ethel Anna Beeve Ley.
She is survived by her brother, Frank Oliver (wife, Rose) Beeve; two daughters, Janice Neal of Scottsdale, AZ. and M. Kay (husband, N. Richard) King of Springfield and son, John Buford(wife, Monica) Hudson of Springfield; 9 grandchildren, Emily Hudson, Lauren Hudson, Jon Cruickshank, Joshua Cruickshank, Jenelle Gamboa, Kayla Neal, Isaac King, Micah King and Kimberly King; 10 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hudson lived in Springfield most of her life, graduated from Springfield High School and was a homemaker. During World War II she worked at the International Shoe Factory in Springfield and was later employed at Whalen's Laketown Pharmacy and by the State of Illinois.
She and her husband moved to Rio Hondo, TX. in the 1970's after having raised their children. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Harlingen, TX. where she was an active volunteer in the food pantry. She was a 20 year volunteer at the Valley Baptist Hospital. Mrs. Hudson enjoyed music and dancing, fishing, boating, gardening, feeding her birds and proper margaritas.
A memorial service was held Monday Feb. 25 at First Presbyterian Church, Harlingen with Rev. Justin Jones officiating.
The family is being served by Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel where friends may call Thursday Feb. 28. 2008 from 10:00 AM until the time of memorial services there at 11:00 AM with Dr. John Kay officiating. Private family burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery.(www.boardman-smith.net).
