Vincent R. Heinen

Vincent R. Heinen, 92, of Springfield, died at 3:28 a.m. on Monday, September 10, 2007 at Memorial Medical Center. Vincent was born on January 4, 1915 in Springfield, the son of Peter J. and Emelie Pauline Zeune Heinen who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by four brothers: Richard A. Phil, Joe and Charles Heinen and two sisters: Savilla C. Schaive and Helen Young. Vincent was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and former member of the Aqua Club. He had been employed for thirty-four years at Sangamo Electric and twenty years at the U.S. Supreme Court. He is survived by two sons: Vincent L. Heinen of Springfield and Michael R. Heinen of Rochester; three daughters: Pamela R. Heinen; Judy Graham and Barbara A. Townsend all of Springfield; several grandchildren; one brother, Raymond “Sam” V. Heinen of Springfield and several nieces and nephews and longtime companion, Margaret Barrington of Springfield. The family welcomes friends to visit from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Visitation will begin with prayers at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 13, 2007 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 245 N. Amos Ave. Springfield with Rev. Robert Jallas celebrant. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery Memorial contributions may be made to Animal Protective League, 1001 Taintor Rd., Springfield, IL 62702-1766.
