
Vincent D. Pilgrim, 89, of Springfield formerly of Mt. Stering passed away Saturday, December 16, 2000 at St. John's Hospital. Mr. Pilgrim was born August 30, 1911 in Mt. Sterling, IL the son of Hugo and Anna Drew Pilgrim. He married Mildred Grace Johnson and she preceded him in death in 1969. He then married Mary Louise Robeck at the Little Flower Catholic Church on May 22, 1972 and she survives. Mr. Pilgrim served in the U.S. Army from 1942 - 1944. While in the Army he attended the U.S. Air Forces Air Corp Pilot Training Program. He worked for C&IM Railroad for 26 years retiring in 1977. He also lived in Chicago during the Great Depression where he worked for Carson, Piere & Scott Department Store and the Drake Hotel. He was preceded in death by his fist wife, parents and a daughter: Honora Rieth; a brother: Hugh G. Pilgrim and a sister: May Swallow. He is survived by his wife: Mary Louise Robeck of Springfield; three daughters: Mary Lucinda Cooper of New Orleans, LA, Frances Anne Pilgrim of Ft. Collins, CO, Laura Jean Kehr of Miami Beach, FL; six step children; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial Services will be planned at a later date at the Church of the Little Flower in Springfield. The family of Vincent Drew Pilgrim is being served by Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.
