Virginia M. Gutzwiller

Virginia M. Gutzwiller, 93, of Springfield, died at 2:45 am on Friday, February 15, 2008 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village. Virginia was born January 5, 1915 in Fancy Prairie, IL, the daughter of William Davis and Doris Matthews Shuck. She was married to William F. Gutzwiller who preceded her in death on November 8, 1989. Virginia will be remembered as an intelligent and caring businesswoman. She was a member and past president of the American Business Women of America and former owner and operator of ACME Credit Service. She also worked as a bookkeeper for Telford's Barber Shop, Illinois State Bar Association, and the Sangamo Club. She is also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters, and a grandson. Virginia is survived by her two sons; David (wife, Elizabeth) Gutzwiller of Saginaw, MI and James Gutzwiller (companion, Linda Keller) of Oconomowac, WI; her daughter Doris Dicenso of Springfield, IL; her brother Mitchel Shuck; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends for visitation from 4:30 to 6:45 pm on Monday, February 18, 2008 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, with a funeral ceremony beginning at 7:00 pm with Vaughn Beeman, officiant.
