

Virginia C. Morris, 81, of Springfield, passed away at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2002 at St. John's Hospice. Virginia was born June 29, 1920 the daughter of Michael S. and Anna G. Kasalko Koval in Mt. Olive, IL. She married James J. Morris February 9, 1949 in Chicago; he preceded her in death July 1999. Virginia was employed by the State of Illinois serving as secretary to Secretary of State Paul Powell, secretary to Governor Otto Kerner, secretary to William Spencer, 1st President of Sangamon State University and lastly served as secretary to State Representatives Henry Hyde and William Walsh. She was a member of St. Joseph's Home Coterie, St. Louise deMarillac Guild, St. Agnes Altar and Rosary Society and a past member of the Springfield Ceramic and Craft Club. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: John and Michael Koval. She is survived by one son: Jim R.(wife, Barb) Morris of Springfield; one daughter: Sheila (husband, Michael) Noonan of Springfield; one brother: Judge Joseph Koval of Staunton, IL; one sister: Lucille Koval of Virden; three brother-in-laws: Thomas, Richard and Reverend Robert Morris all of Springfield; five grandchildren: Scott, Lara and Julie Noonan, Timothy and Daniel Morris, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m., Monday, March 18, 2002. Visitation will begin with a wake service at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 19, 2002 at St. Agnes Catholic Church with Very Reverend Patrick Wright V.F. celebrant. Burial will follow in Camp Butler National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities, 120 S. 11th St., Springfield, IL 62703. The family of Virginia C.
