Virginia "Ginny" Myers

Virginia “Ginny” Myers, 79, of Springfield died at 9:46 a.m. Sunday, November 20, 2005 at St. John’s Hospital. Virginia was born March 19, 1926 in Springfield the daughter of Anthony and Helen Casper Fifer. She married John “Jack” B. Myers, Jr. on October 18, 1947 in Springfield. Mrs. Myers was a founding member of the Sangamon Doll Club and a member of Tazewell Doll Club in Peoria, the United Federation of Dolls Club, the National Valentine Club and the Merry Painters Guild. She is survived by her husband: John “Jack” B. Myers, Jr.; one daughter: Nancy (husband, Randy) Sanchez of Springfield; two grandchildren: Jamie (wife, Jen) Sanchez of Chicago and Roxanne Sanchez (husband, Kyle Gass) of Buckhart; two great grandchildren: Paxton and Elias of Buckhart and one sister: Christine Maddy of Riverside, CA. Family will receive friends from 4-6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 22, 2005 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 23, 2005 at Church of the Little Flower, 800 Adlai Stevenson Dr., Springfield, IL with Fr. Chuck Edwards celebrant. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association of Illinois, 3000 Kelly Ln., Springfield, IL 62707.
