Virginia Mae Ray

Virginia Mae Ray, 59, of Springfield, passed away Friday, May 3, 2002 at her residence. Virginia was born March 28, 1943 the daughter of Alfred and Edna Somerfield Tonellato in Springfield. She was a 1961 graduate of Lanphier High School and she worked for the Springfield Police Department in the Juvenile section from 1979-1989. She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by a son: Patrick R. Ray, Jr. of Springfield; a daughter: Mary R. Ray of Springfield; three grandchildren: Dawn Ray, Lyndsey and Brittny Hagen all of Springfield; two sisters: Alberta McCray of Springfield , Alfreda Shore of St. Joseph, IL.; two brothers: Ed (wife, Bonnie) Tonellato of Riverton, Richard (wife, Judy) Tonellato of Lincoln; ex-husband Patrick R. Ray, Sr. of Springfield and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home from 4-6:00 p.m. Monday, May 6, 2002 Funeral Services will follow the visitation at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Scott Brindley officiating. Mrs. Ray’s body will be donated to science following the services. Memorial contributions may be made to the famiy of Virginia M.
