

Virginia S. Sullivan, 95, of Sherman, died at 6:58 p.m. on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at St. John's Hospital. Virginia was born November 5, 1916 in Divernon, the daughter of Alexander and Sophia Yavaroski. Virigina was a 1934 graduate of Divernon High School and worked for Myers Brothers, Maldaner's, and was a bookkeeper for an accounting firm. She was a member of St. Joseph Church in Springfield and the Railroad Workers Auxiliary. Virginia was a devoted mother and had a great love for her two poodles, Renee and Michelle. She loved to read, work puzzles, travel and play pinochle. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, William Sharp; one grandchild, Amanda Dickson; and four sisters, Laura Bruce, Alice Fouche, Jennie Brown, and Helen Burkhead. She is survived by one step-son, Timothy (wife, Joyce) Sullivan of Sherman; one step-daughter, Barbara (husband, Weldon) Dickson of Manito; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one sister, Wanda (husband, Sam) Brunk of Pawnee. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 10:00-11:15 a.m. on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1345 N. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Mass: 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Rev. Msgr. Thomas P. Holinga celebrant. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
