William J. Coady

William J. Coady, 79, of Springfield, died at 6:42 a.m. on Monday, January 16, 2006 at St. John’s Hospital. William was born on June 27, 1926 in Lincoln, the son of Joseph T. and Theresa Lee Coady. He married Jean B. Burns on July 15, 1950 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church; she preceded him in death on January 27, 1999. William was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran. He retired from CILCO where he had been employed as a consumer service representative. He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and Holy Name Society. He was also a member of American Legion Post 32, Honorary Lifetime Member of Knights of Columbus Council 364, 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Bishop Griffin Assembly and Catholic War Veterans Post 1916. He was also preceded in death by his parents and one brother: Robert W. Coady. He is survived by one son: Michael W. Coady of Springfield, one brother: James F. (wife, Dorothy J.) Coady of Springfield; two sisters-in-law: Zelda F. Coady of Sherman and Sharon (husband, Tony) Gregg of East Peoria; one brother-in-law: Kevin (wife, Alberta) Burns of Des Moines, IA and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 19, 2006 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 245 N. Amos, Springfield with Rev. Philip Kraft celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Agnes Catholic Church, 245 N. Amos, Springfield, IL 62702. The family of William J.
