William Dobson

William “Bill” Dale Dobson, 61, of Springfield, passed away on Friday May 31, 2013 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. He was born on December 18, 1951 in Springfield to James and Juanita Courtwright Dobson.

He is survived by his mother Juanita Lockhart of Springfield, two brothers: Gary Dobson of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, and Larry (Joyce) Dobson of Springfield, one sister-in-law Linda Dobson of New Berlin, one uncle Charles (Shirley) Courtwright of Springfield and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, his brother Robert Dobson, and his step-father.

Bill was a US Marine Veteran of the Vietnam Era, he was a firefighter paramedic and a lab technician for N.A.B.I both located in Memphis, TN. He was a member of the DAV, American Legion, Vietnam Veterans of America, North American Sporting Club, and he was a life member of the NRA.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm on Monday June 3, 2013 at Camp Butler National Cemetery where the Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County will conduct Military honors.
