Zachary James Chastain

He was born May 8, 2005, in Springfield, the son of Christopher and Jessica Gray Chastain. He was entering the 5th grade at Sangamon Valley Elementary School West. He was preceded in death by his grandfather's, John Gray and Jeffery Chastain.

He was a great kid. He would meet someone and would change their life. He played football and baseball, loved video games, playing outside with his younger sister and animals. He studied the military and had ambitions of becoming a soldier with the U.S. Army. He was an avid reader.

He is survived by his father, Christopher Chastain of Springfield, his mother Jessica Chastain of Illiopolis, IL his sister, Isabella of Illiopolis, his grandparents, Patricia Gray and Mary (Patrick) Jackson all of Springfield, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation: The Chastain family will greet friends from 3-7 pm Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Bisch and Son Funeral Home 505 E. Allen, Springfield, IL. Those attending are encouraged to wear Camouflage or Blue attire.

Funeral Service: The funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 10:00 am Friday, August 28, 2015. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
