On Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at his home in Springfield, VA. Dear husband for 36 years of Linda Dawn Corey; father of Shannon, Paul, Adam, Pamela, Elizabeth, and Jennifer; and grandfather to many. Alexander's military career spanned 27 years. He fought in the India-China-Burma Theater during World War II. He also served with distinction in Korean and Vietnam, where he commanded a special operations squadron. In the process he was awarded numerous medals, including the Distinguished Flying Cross, making his family very proud.
Alexander was extremely well traveled and knowledgeable on a wide range of topics. Time did very little to diminish his sharp wit. He was widely admired for his compassion and easy going nature. He had a lifelong love of poker, crossword puzzles, and Westerns. He was a legend and an inspiration to those around him, and will be sorely missed by all. A funeral followed by internment at Arlington National Cemetery will follow at a later date.
