Barbara O. Crowder

A long-time resident of Springfield, Burke and Falls Church, VA, Barbara O. Crowder passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late Jack A. Crowder, Sr., Barbara, 85, was born in Plainfield, NJ. She was the daughter of the late Marjorie and Leonard Ochtman. Barbara was a graduate of Randolph Macon Women's College, Lynchburg, VA, and was a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority.

Barbara was an active member of Saint Bernadette Catholic Church in Springfield, and was previously a long-time member of Saint Mary Catholic Church in Burke, and Saint Anthony Catholic Church in Falls Church.

She is survived by six children, Mary Bruno of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Jack A. Crowder, Jr. of Falls Church, VA, Marjorie (Motty) Bradshaw of Alexandria, VA, Barbara (Boo) St. Raymond of Scottsdale, AZ, Patricia Cardenas of Vienna, VA and James Crowder of Clarksville, MD; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 11, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Demaine Funeral Home, 5308 Backlick Road, Springfield, VA. A Memorial Mass will be held at noon on Tuesday, March 12, at the Chapel at Greenspring Village, 7410 Spring Village Drive, Springfield, VA.
