Beatrice Louise Rafferty

Beatrice “Bea” Louise Rafferty, 97, of Alexandria, Virginia, passed away on January 9th, 2021 in Fairfax, Virginia. Bea was born in Yonkers, New York to Ellanora and Alonzo Kolb on August 19th, 1923. She married John Rafferty on January 7th, 1950 on Fort Warden, Washington. She worked at the Metropolitan Insurance Company in New York before devoting her life to her children and grandchildren. Bea is preceded in death by her husband John, with whom she is reunited. Bea is also preceded in death by her sister Ruth Osekowski. Bea is survived by children John (Laurie) Rafferty and Ruth (Robert) Torres, grandchildren Matthew (Alena) Torres and Jack Rafferty, and sister Bertha Trimarco. Funeral services will be private. Burial will follow at Arlington National Cemetery. Arrangements are by Demaine Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital. The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department and Police Department, the Fairfax County Public Safety Communications staff, and to the physicians and staff of Inova Fairfax Hospital.
