Betty Ruth Romero Wheaton, age 89 a resident of Greenspring Village, Springfield, Virginia passed away on December 22, 2011. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA to Mary Louise and Frederick Daniel Romero on December 9, 1922. Betty was married to Julius Harrison Finkle of Annapolis. She later married Col. Rodrick Kilburn Wheaton on October 20, 1962 to April 28, 1992. She graduated from Arundel High School as valedictorian, and was awarded a scholarship to University of Maryland. Betty is survived by her seven children, Barbara Slater, Beth Collins, Carol Germain, Beverly Staples, Linda Wright, Barbara Black and Brad Wheaton; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Services will be Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at 11:30 am the Demaine Funeral Home, 5308 Backlick Rd, Springfield, VA, followed by interment at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia at 3:00 pm.
