

On Monday, October 3, 2011, at the age of 93. He resided at The Fairfax, Ft. Belvoir, Va. Michael served as a Communications Officer in the 44th Bomb Group during WW II, and in the Office of Special Investigations until he retired as a Colonel from the U. S. Air Force in 1964. He subsequently worked at the National Security Agency and the Defense Investigative Service. He is survived by his son, Patrick Neri (Cheri); his granddaughter, Laura Switzer, and his three sisters, Lena Armata, Mary Cianciotto, and Theresa Boyle. A Memorial Reception will be held at The Fairfax in the Community Center, 9140 Belvoir Woods Parkway, Ft. Belvoir, Va. near the intersection of Telegraph Road and Route 1 on Saturday, October 15, from 2-4 pm. Funeral services will be held at Ft. Myer Old Post Chapel on Friday, February 3, 2012 at 12:45 pm with the Burial to follow at Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will take place on Thursday, February 2, 2012, from 4-7 p.m. at the Demaine Funeral Home, 5308 Backlick Road, Springfield, Va. 22151.
