Born in Alexandria , VA, David graduated from Thomas Jefferson HS in Alexandria in 1975. He received his Degree in Building Construction from the College of Architecture at Virginia Tech in 1979.

Husband to Roxana Nimo Eliff of Cape Coral, FL.; loving father to David McClellan Eliff, Jr. of Alexandria, VA, and Christopher Marshall Eliff and daughter-in-law Rachel Paige Eliff, of Cape Coral, FL; grandfather to Jackson Marshall Eliff of Cape Coral, FL; loving son of John Matthews Eliff, Jr. and the late Marcia McClellan Eliff, of Marshall, VA; son-in-law of Estela Scheno Nimo and the late Ernesto Jorge Nimo of Cape Coral, FL; brother to John (Jack) Matthews Eliff, III and sister-in-law Tama Crisman Eliff of Alexandria, VA; brother to Karen Eliff Stebelton and brother-in-law Roger Lee Stebelton of Germantown, OH; uncle to John (Matt) Matthews Eliff, IV and Kaitlyn Anne Knoll of Lorton, VA, Kara Eliff Etzel and Jason Paul Etzel of Christiansburg, VA, Casey Pierce Eliff of Christiansburg, VA, Duncan Robert Stebelton, Caelan Michael Stebelton, and Ian Matthews Stebelton of Germantown, OH; and great uncle to Jackson Connor Etzel of Christiansburg, VA.

A gathering of family and friends will take place Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 1 pm at the Eliff residence, 7209 Catlett Street, Springfield, VA 22151. Dress will be casual.
