

Born in Spokane, Washington on October 12, 1939. He loved The Lord and attended Baptist churches throughout his life. Dave earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at Washington State University and his Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering from The Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey, CA.
He served in the United States Navy for more than 30 years, having achieved the rank of Captain with several career highlights. He had command of the USS Hoist, USS Caron, and a Destroyer Squadron in the Persian Gulf. He completed his Naval Career by commanding the Surface Warfare Development Group in Norfolk, VA. He was extremely proud to serve in the Navy, and is fondly remembered by the men who served under his leadership. Following his retirement from the Navy, Dave joined Marine Acoustics in Washington DC, continuing work with the Navy and performing many sea tests with them in his new role. He kept very active after full retirement, acting as a docent at The Smithsonian Air and Space Museum in Dulles, an escort for WW2 veterans on their Honor Flights to Washington, DC, and leadership roles in the Fraternal Naval Order.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Ruth Kaiser, and brother Hugh. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Terryann (Pommer) of Springfield, VA; brother Jim of Nevada; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim and Becky Pommer of Redmond, WA; son Mark of Norfolk, VA; daughter Melissa Kaiser of Alexandria, VA; daughter Sara Davis (John) of Maineville, OH; grandsons, Samuel Davis of Lawton, OK, Jackson Davis of Cameron, NC and William Davis of West Lafayette, IN. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
A tentative Service and Burial at Arlington National Cemetery will be announced once a date has been secured.
